Safety Basics provides Child Passenger Safety Education for parents, grandparents, and professionals. 

Babies on Board

4 out of 5 of parents use and install child passenger safety seats incorrectly. Expectant and new parents, grandparents and caregivers will learn the basics of infant car seat safety and how to safely transport your baby up to age 2.  Learn the ins and outs of how to use a rear-facing car seat, how to fit your infant into the seat, and how to safely install the seat. Toddlers and Preschoolers on Board

Your baby is now an active, on the go child.  Learn the safest way to transport your toddler and preschooler, ages 2-4 years. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers  will learn how to use and install forward-facing child passenger safety seats.  Fitting the harness correctly, installation using LATCH and seat belts and the importance of tethers will be discussed as well as when your child is ready to graduate to a booster seat.  Contact us to arrange a program for your group by calling, 314-504-7926.


Operation Kids:  Next Generation

Child Passenger Safety Basic Awareness 6 hour course-participation level not certification

The goal of the program is to create an awareness of the importance of child passenger safety education and enforcement in preventing child passenger deaths and injuries and to provide basic knowledge on this issue.  The audience for this class is primarily directed toward law enforcement personnel, healthcare providers, child care providers and fire and rescue professionals.

Baby Shower Program

Overview of car seat safety for infants along with accident prevention and childproofing for babies.  Includes car seat installation for Mom to be, family members, and guests.  Fee based on group size.

Children on Board

Child passenger safety overview for parents and caregivers transporting children from birth through 8 years of age.  Appropriate car safety seats for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children will be discussed as well as current MO laws in this 30 minute program. Mobile car seat fitting station can be offered as an option at the end of the program by appointment.  Regular fees apply, group discount may be offered depending on group size. National Child Passenger Safety Certification Training Program

This program provides the basic knowledge and technical skills for the correct use and installation of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts necessary to conduct safety inspections stations and community education. Participants will be certified as Child Passenger Safety Technicians upon successfully completing all course requirements. This is a 2-4 day classroom course with lecture, demonstration, practice of skills in motor vehicles, quizzes, and skills exercises. Final day is participation in a car seat safety check up event.  Can be offered at your organization or at Safety Basics.  Minimum group size is 5.  National registration fee of $85/person and local fees based on group size.  Call our office for more information at 314-504-7926.
